The Battlefield Band’s Music Tryst Festival is happening from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 August 2011 at the National Mining Museum Scotland, Lady Victoria Colliery, Newtongrange, Midlothian.
A weekend of superb traditional music; concerts, lessons/ workshops and informal sessions, suitable for all ages led by the internationally acclaimed Scottish group Battlefield Band who will be joined by some of their musical friends.
Held at the National Mining Museum Scotland, sited on one of the finest examples of a Victorian colliery, the ‘Lady Victoria’ at Newtongrange, Midlothian. The museum is just eight miles south of Edinburgh preserves and presents Scotland’s mining heritage — a five star visitor attraction in its own right.
Showcasing some of the best and most respected musicians in Scotland, with bagpipes, fiddles, songs and craic to the fore, this should be a weekend to remember from Friday 5 August.
