Celtic Music Radio has never sounded so good!
Our boffins have been busy at work in the background to improve the audio quality of our web streams.
Here’s the science bit:
From Tuesday 2 July, Celtic Music Radio will be upgrading the main audio web stream from 64 to 128 kbps stereo giving our listeners double the sound quality!
This stream is ideal for listening via your home or work laptop or desktop computer with broadband internet access. It is the same programme service that is broadcast over-the-air on 1530 kHz AM medium wave across the Glasgow area.
For mobile listeners, either via our Apple App or via TuneIn and other apps, we have introduced a new service which conserves your mobile data allowance.
Listeners via mobile Smartphones and Tablets will automatically be directed to our new 48 kbps AAC+ stream which uses less data to sound better than our previous web stream.
You shouldn’t need to do anything to take advantage of our new service as your player should catch up with our changes itself.
However, if you do have difficulties, just click below or our Listen Live links at the top of the page or to the right.
If you need any assistance, please email support@celticmusicradio.net
Our web stream and Catch-Up facilities are provided by Canstream, a division of the Community Media Association. Our thanks to Bill and the team for their assistance.
