USA Chart Welcomes Mike Ritchie As First UK Contributor

We are pleased to report that our award-winning presenter, Mike Ritchie is the first from the UK to become a contributing reporter to a speciality music chart in the USA.
Mike, who’s been presenting his MIKE RITCHIE ON SUNDAY SHOW since September 2014, has been invited to start submitting his weekly playlist to the Alt.Country Specialty Chart, highlighting specifically the new releases he has picked.
He joins 30 other shows from all across the States plus one in Canada in reporting to the popular chart, which is published every Wednesday.
Run by music business experts, Joe Swank and Jenni Finlay for almost three years, the chart is important as it shows clearly what new music is being broadcast by the various stations and their presenters.
“We are so pleased Mike is now involved,” said Joe. “He plays a lot of new releases on his show so he’s an ideal fit for the chart as we try to boost the numbers of stations contributing.”
Joe and Jenni hope to have as many as 50 different reporters providing their playlists.
“I think the chart is such a good idea,” said Mike, who has twice won the readers’ “Best Radio Show” vote in the annual Americana UK website end-of-year poll.
“It is an interesting read so I’m pleased Celtic Music Radio is now part of it.”
Chair of the board of directors at CMR, Alex Jenkins, said: “It shows how highly rated Mike’s show is while demonstrating the quality of our programming here at CMR.”
