Album of the Week Tríona Marshall – ‘Between Two Ways’
Tríona’s new CD ‘Between Two Ways’ is her new ‘solo’ album but with a host of guests from Paddy Moloney , Sean Kean , Martin Hayes , Seamus Begley and Tim Edey to name but a few. In collaboration with Martin Tourish who composed many of the tunes on this album, bring the stunning talent of Tríona’s both classical and traditional to the fore. To quote Tríona ‘ I wanted to create an album which reflected the experiences and people who have had an impact on my musical journey to date’
Tríona’s music has been hailed by critics as both sensitive and revelatory. Drawing from the centuries-old harp tradition, her performances are renowned for their depth, virtuosity and flair. Her years spent performing with orchestras, and is still chief harpist with RTÉ Concert Orchestra and her time with The Chieftains . More recently paired up with Alyth McCormack and the release to fantastic reviews of ‘Red & Gold’ has taken her wonderful music all over the world. However, it is as a soloist, summoning the spirit, people and places of her musical world and journeys, bringing her music to a very appreciative audience, old and new!
