Alistair Ogilvy returns to The Mary Kathleen Burke Show this Sunday evening with his debut album Leaves Sae Green which has just been released on Greentrax Recordings.
Alistair Ogilvy made his debut appearance on the Mary K Burke Show on Celtic Music Radio in 2009 where he sang unaccompanied.
He came back to Mary’s programme in 2010 and played guitar and brought his demo produced by Vivien Scotson and Patrick Bullen and sang a duet with Mary live on the programme.
Mary told him then he was going to go very far and she wasn’t wrong. Mary says: “Alistair surpassed himself by going on to sing in almost every Scottish folk club and ended up as a finalist in the BBC Young Trad Musician of the Year in 2011 and again in 2012.”
“I have never met such a nice person as Alistair he is a real charmer and it amazes me that someone of his age has such a genuine love of traditional songs he could be a pin up in a fashion Magazine with his looks and I can hear him saying “oh shut up Mary ” He has set the stage for many more young traditional singers to aspire to and I wish him all the success in the world he so deserves it” says Mary.
Mary K Burke Show, Sunday 1 April 7.00-9.00pm.
