On Travels with my Auntie Liz with Liz Clark on Tuesday 18 June at 8.00pm, Liz has Jill Jackson and Lisa Tring from Jill’s recently formed band The Chaplins live in studio 1 with live tunes from their much awaited new EP from the beautifully crafted pen of singer-songwriter Jill.
The Chaplins EP can be download from iTunes and there will be limited copies at forthcoming gigs.
The Chaplins completed a very successful tour with Runrig
at the end of last year in the UK and Germany collecting vast numbers new fans along the way as well as the thousands of Jill Jackson fans already out there loving the music which is pleasantly deceiving.
Jill Jackson has produced perfectly crafted, meaningful songs with unforgettable melodies and poignant lyrics. With the help of Lisa and Cameron, these songs are beautifully brought to life.
The Chaplins are Jill Jackson (lead vocals, guitar, banjo, ukulele, harmonica), Lisa Tring (drums, percussion, vocals, ukulele) and Cameron Maxwell (double bass, vocals).
With their timeless feel, The Chaplins will appeal to all whether eight or 80, you will find yourself mesmerised by this distinctive trio.
They formed in July 2012, getting their name from lead singer Jill’s borderline obsession with Charlie Chaplin. With their 1920’s dress sense and quirky, alternative bluegrass sound, The Chaplins are a unique addition to the music world.
The Chapmans next gig will be in Jill’s home town of Paisley at the Paisley Arts Centre, New Street, Paisley on Saturday 29 June. Go along and see them live!
