Calum Stewart is steeped in the tradition of his native northern Scotland, playing the Uileann Pipes/ wooden flute/ whistle/ low whistle. Calum has been much sought after musician by many of his contemporary’s guesting on albums by Mánran/ Jamie Smithh’s Mabon/ Burrule/Katie Doherty as well as collaborations with Lauren MacColl and Gareth Davies-Jones. Calum also brouth out two recordings with Breton guitarist Heikki Bourgault and his own solo album in 2008 Earlywood.
This stunning new album Tales from The North has seven of Calum’s own compositions as well as from the Irish and Scottish Traditions.
