The Morgan Lee Band is a Glasgow-based group. The line-up is Anne Morgan(fiddle, viola, backing vocals); Hugh Lee (lead vocals, mandolin, bouzouki, fiddle, harmonica & whistles); Emma Joyce (lead vocals, accoustic guitar); Tony Llewelyn (accoustic & resonator guitars, backing vocals) Ian Cleland (bass) and Chris Reilly (percussion). They are particularly interested in the alternative edge of the folk music scene although they do play some ‘oldies’. Their set list ranges from traditional material through to more contemporary and self-penned numbers – they term their music ’Celtic Eclectica’.
They perform regularly at many folk clubs including The Star (Glasgow), Stirling, Irvine, Dunfermline, and Falkirk to name but a few, and also play at folk festivals and pubs all over the UK. Over the coming months they are looking forward to performing in various pubs and folk clubs further afield. Morgan Lee Band is particularly excited about their third outing to Co. Durham and Cumbria in August 2017.
