Claire Hastings will be dropping in to see Auntie Liz to play a few tunes, let her know about her new CD due out in January , what else she has been up to this year and her tour!
From Young Trad winner in 2015 to being an Honours graduate from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Claire’s move to Glasgow from her native Dumfries – her feet have not touched the ground !
Her debut album with her own band – ‘Between River and Railway’ was released in 2016 to critical acclaim (‘exquisite’ Songlines ). Her second album; ‘Those Who Roam’, features traditional and original songs on the theme of journeys. Due out in January 2019 -Claire will be touring the album throughout 2019.
Her band members have included Jenn Butterworth / Laura Wilkie / Andrew Waite / Martin O’Neill / Duncan Lyall.
Claire is also a talented actor! Also very involved with several teaching projects throughout Scotland – from Feis Rois to school projects and is very passionate about her work with Live Music Now Scotland
As well as touring with The Clair Hastings Band she is also a member of Top Floor Taivers !
