Celtic Music Radio is pleased to welcome new presenter, Cameron Nixon, who will be at the mic on Monday evenings, starting on May 10.
Aberdeen-born, Cameron is at twenty-two, the youngest member of the team.
“I love being on stage but I am really excited about this new world of presenting my own show on radio with a station that plays so much of the music I admire,” said Cameron.
“I can’t wait to get started.”
An accomplished singer, Cameron attended the National Youth Choir of Scotland from the age of nine and this led to performances at several prestigious events here and overseas – the BBC proms 2016, Independence Day Celebrations in Chicago, BBC Songs of Praise and he also featured in Scottish Opera’s production of ‘The Magic Flute.’
Cameron is an acclaimed fiddle player and joined the North East Folk Collective in 2010 that appeared at The Royal Albert Hall as part of the Music for Youth’s school proms event and at the BBC Trad Awards in 2012.
He performed in Cape Breton with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland as part of Celtic Colours International Festival and last year was a finalist in the BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year Award.
Cameron graduated last year with a First-Class Honours Degree from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and is now studying a Media and Communications course. He recently joined a new band called Harbour Road.
