Special Guest – Inverclyde Music Festival President Isabel Lind

Written by on September 16, 2024

President of the Inverclyde Music Festival, Isabel Lind is this week’s guest on Gerry’s Jukebox (Wednesday, September 18).

Her association with the festival is long-standing.

She first took part in 1961 as a competitor with Greenock High School and from 1972 as a sponsor of pupils from four different schools. In 1996, she was invited to join the committee and from 2010 she has had the honour of being the Association’s President.

The next festival runs for two weeks from Monday 20th January to Saturday 1st February and mainly takes place in Greenock Town Hall.

Drumming has been staged at The Beacon Arts Centre in recent years.

The festival – a member of the British and International Federation of Festivals – costs £25,000 each year to run and relies on individual and business donations. An Inverclyde Council grant helps towards the cost of hiring the Town Hall.

Entries are now open with a closing date of 31st October.

Isabel will be chatting to Gerry about it all on the show that starts at 4 pm.
