Ciaran Dorris is away this Sunday and ‘sitting-in’ for Ciaran is Danny Matheson and in the studio will be Glasgow singer-songwriter John Taylor.
John Taylor is a Glasgow born singer/songwriter who after many years of playing in different bands is now enjoying some success as a singer/songwriter. While with his band ‘Mudshark’ he had an album released by Pony records, an indie label which was formed by Texas management to break the band.
Mudshark enjoyed a taste of success and toured Europe and the UK supporting some big names in rock – even quoted by Metalica’s bass player Jason Newstead as having “album of the year”. However, during the making of the second album cracks started to appear in working relationships and musical direction.
Always writing acoustic songs throughout the years, John decided it was time to start recording his own blend of acoustic/folk music. This proved to be a positive decision and before too long he started to hit the Glasgow acoustic folk scene and released Bring The Stars Alive. The album was nominated ‘Album of the week’ on Celtic Music Radio and John enjoyed playing shows in Scotland to promote it.
Join John with Danny on Sunday 26 June at 5.00pm to find out what he is up to currently.
