Rusty Rierson is a native of Leon in South-central, Kansas. Growing up on the family farm he fell in love with agriculture and pursued the degree at Kansas State in Agricultural Economics. Rusty graduated in 2008 and then completed a masters degree in Animal Science from Kansas State as well in summer 2011. Rusty got into music when he was 14 years old.
He started singing in church and soon it became a passion. He learned guitar when his father, Roger, suggested that they take lessons together.
He has released six albums including his latest offering Souvenirs. The title track went to No 1 recently on the Europe Hot Disc charts and made it into the Music Row charts in the U.S.
And looking ahead to next Sunday, 2 March which is Texas independence Day, so it’ll be an All Texas music including a chat with Kelly Spinks, who is also coming to the Caithness Festival.
