This weekendlooking forward to Rothbury Traditional Music Festival which is on Friday 18 to Sunday 20 July 2014 in Rothbury, a market town in Northumberland writes Liz Clark.
A fantastic addition to the festival this year is the marvelous Umoja Gaelica show ‘uniting the world one song at a time’ created by Lea Gilmore (USA) and Paul Creighton with a African Americian and Celtic musicians on stage as part of their tour.

Also on Friday Night 8.30 – Tony Corcoran Ceilidh Band in the Jubilee Hall and at 8.00pm in The Railway Hotel an Open Mic Night.

10:30 – 12pm – Fiddle Workshop with Stewart Hardy – Jubilee Hall
12:00 – 4pm – Outside Stage – Featuring: The Pipe Band Parade; The Wilson Family ; Rag Bag Morris ; Highland Dancers; Benny Graham; Beat the Clogger; Keep Calm and Carry On; Reely Rockin Ceilidh Band and Rothbury WI Choir not to mention Storytelling with Ian Douglas and plenty of Craft Stall, Face painting and lots more!
6:30 Concert in All Saints Church featuring Festival Guests as well as competition winners.
8:00 Thomlinson Bunkhouse Cafe – Northumbrian Pipes and singaround.
8:30 Non Dance Ceilidh in the Mart: The Wilson Family; Bottle Bank Band; Benny Grahgam ; Andrew & Margaret Watchorn as well as local artists and festival visitors.

11:00am Final Fling with the ‘festival survivors band’!!
2:30 – Stalwarts and survivors – ‘session for those sturdy people still wanting more music and song’
