The Dandy Warhols from Portland in Oregon are celebrating 25 years in the business with their 10th album “Why Are You So Crazy.”
On a European tour the four-strong indie band, led by Courtney Taylor-Taylor, are back after a few years sabbatical.
They adopt an eclectic approach, which although predominantly indie / psychedelic, they also included a couple of country type songs with an electronic twist to them, such as Sins Are Forgiven and Motor City Steel.
Their audience seemed to love the Motor City Steel opening lyrics of: “Oh my lord, you could drive a Ford or you could drive a Chevy or a Jimmy if you really like” while their “go to” song from many years ago, Bohemian Like You, also went down very well.
The band rely heavily on an electronic sound with but emphasis on the synthesiser and their new material found favour with the fans.
One niggle, though: the billowing, dry ice and the orange and purple lighting made it difficult to see the stage.
