New Voices – Ewan Robertson
Sunday 24th January
This was a performance built on the performance of an athlete  – nae, a Celtman athlete – as he took on the challenge of the Celtman triathlon in Torridon in Wester Ross.

Ewan Robertson puts together an audio visual experience into the trials of the endurance race. The band consisted of Rory Campbell, Barry Reid, Megan Henderson and Iain McFarlane playing some fantastic dramatic tunes that traced not only the landscape endured by the athletes but spirit of the terrain that it holds, from the tingling cold of the Atlantic to the rugged Munros and winding Highland roads,  taking them on to the finish of a race that would push them to the end and surviving the Celtman Triathlon.

The tune that stood out for this short concert was “Ribbon of fire” which was a dramatic orchestral piece performed by the musicians, with cascading waterfalls and trails of fire torches lighting up the shoreline . A standing ovation was given to Ewan Robertson and the group following a performance which traced a spectacular show of music and endurance.
