The Ciaran Dorris Sunday Session guest “castaway” this Sunday 24 March will be legendary Scottish singer Maggie Reilly, best known for her collaborations with the composer Mike Oldfield between 1980 and 1984, including Moonlight Shadow, Foreign Affair and To France plus the Hall & Oates hit ‘Family Man’ for which she received an ASCAP award in 1984.
After parting with Mike Oldfield and taking time out to start a family, Maggie resumed her solo career and awards came with increasing frequency.
She joined forces with the major German publishing house Mambo, producing the Album ‘Echoes’ in 1991 for which she wrote the massive worldwide hit ‘Everytime we Touch’ alongside the European hits ‘Wait’ and ‘Tears in the Rain’. A series of solo albums were released over the next 17 years.
In 2006 Maggie returned to her Scottish roots with the release of ‘Rowan’, an album of original songs, mixed
seamlessly with traditional Scottish and English folk songs with the Reilly twist.
Ciaran Dorris Sunday Session, Sunday 24 March 2013 5.00-7.00pm and Catch Up anytime.
