Celtic Music Radio 95 FM will be live from the grand finale of the 2nd Inverclyde Scottish Folk & Roots Festival on Saturday night, 15 November from 7.00pm.
Gaberlunzie close the festival on Saturday night which was launched on 5 October 2014. The evening is introduced by Ross Macfadyen and by Riverside Arts’ Neil Lochiel.
Gaberlunzie are a Scottish folk music institution! Robin Watson and Gordon Menzies have been performing as Gaberlunzie for 40 years, recording 25 albums and three videos over that period in addition to their countless gigs and television and radio performances throughout the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Canada and America.
Their performances are unfailingly rich in melody, harmony and humour. Their songs span the breadth of Scottish culture, many of which are deeply ingrained into the psyche of the nation, as they sing about its beauty, its history, its land, its villages, its characters, its idiosyncrasies and its lore.
Every self-respecting Scottish folk music collection should have at least one Gaberlunzie album in it and the duo are a fitting act to close Inverclyde’s Scottish Folk & Roots Festival 2014.
Winner from The Session on 5 October will be the support act has been selected by Celtic Music Radio 95FM from the entrants to The Session open mic day.
