Celtic Music Radio will be broadcasting live from the Cowal Highland Games in Dunoon Stadium, Dunoon, Argyll on Saturday afternoon in association with Dunoon Community Radio on 97.4 FM
There has been a change to the Firth of Clyde Gourock-Dunoon-Gourock ferry crossing. Argyll Ferries recently won the tender to provide passenger services between Gourock and Dunoon and they have announced plans to assist people travelling to the Cowal Gathering in Dunoon.
The Gathering takes place from Thursday 25 August to Saturday 27 August and is traditionally one of the busiest weekends of the summer on the Upper Clyde.
Argyll Ferries is to supplement its current two-vessel passenger only service with support from CalMac’s MV Saturn on the Saturday when the Gathering reaches its climax with the Pipe Band Championship and Highland Games. The MV Saturn is a veteran of the Gourock-Dunoon run until it was withdrawn with the introduction of the new service.
The last sailing of the day will leave Dunoon Pier for Gourock at 23:10 on Saturday night.
Western Ferries run between Gourock McIlroy’s Point to Dunoon Hunter’s Quay continously thoughout the day and are the only car and passenger ferry operator.
