This is the 10th year of the Perthshire Amber festival and the Dunkeld based festival promises once again to be full of wonderful concerts featuring the finest of Scotland’s musical talent as well as some international guests.
Celtic Music Radio 95 FM will be broadcasting live from Amber Central at the Royal Dunkeld Hotel in Dunkeld in Highland Perthshire for the Saturday afternoon Open Mic Sessions and also the daily Carbaret Amber Concerts at Amber Central in Dunkeld and it all starts on Saturday 25 October live from Dunkeld at 12 noon until 5.00pm.
The Perthshire Amber venues are as special as ever, ranging from the prestigious Perth Concert Hall to town halls and tiny village halls, from atmospheric castles to historic Dunkeld Cathedral and even including an iron age Crannog on Loch Tay – there are 25 venues in all in 2014.
The festival is always evolving, and do remember it began as just a weekend of concerts, and this year, Dougie says he is thrilled to have been chosen as one of the funded events for Homecoming Scotland 2014.
Dougie MacLean says: “We’ll be bringing you some very special concerts and events to celebrate Homecoming Scotland 2014, the 10th anniversary of Perthshire Amber and my 40th year as a touring musician!”
There is another opportunity to listen to the chat that Ross Macfadyen had with Dougie MacLean about Perthshire Amber tonight, Sunday 19 October at 10.00pm to 12 midnight.
