1pm Russell de Carle , Steve Biggs & Denis Keldie Appearing at Celtic Connections 4 Feb in The Tron Theatre with David Francey
In true “the show must go on” spirit, legendary performer Russell deCarle is determined to appear during this year’s Celtic Connections, despite the fact that a key member of his band has been forced to drop out. Accordionist Denis Keldie has been advised by doctors that he should not travel across the Atlantic following a health scare. He will still be bringing multi-talented guitarist Steve Briggs over for what will be their only UK appearance this year Briggs and deCarle have appeared together in duo format on many occasions over the years and the pair have recorded a number of albums together too in joint careers that have spanned the decades. When deCarle was lead singer and song-writer for Prairie Oyster, he led the band to rack up an impressive list of awards, gold and platinum selling records and No 1 singles. When he toured in pared-back trio format in the UK last year, reviews were glowing.
