Ross Hull and Cameron Grant
Ross and Cameron first met at a young age as members of the North East Folk Collective. From there they both progressed from their schools in Stonehaven and Inverurie to the National Centre Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music where they spent their last year of high school completely immersed in folk/traditional music. However it wasn’t until Ross and Cameron began their courses on the Isle of Benbecula they naturally seemed to form a duo and take straight to playing their music across Scotland. They recorded their debut E.P ‘Eshaness’ two years ago and recently they have had the opportunity to also play at festivals overseas.
Chris Corrigan
Chris is a percussive fingerstyle guitarist from Glenrothes in Fife who takes influence from many artists such as Don Ross, Preston Reed, Andy McKee, John Butler and Tommy Emmanuel. To date Chris has had many ventures within the Scottish music scene, playing with and supporting a variety of talented bands and artists such as Dean Chalmers, Esperi and Our Smallest Adventures in venues across Scotland and on national television. He is currently in the process of recording his first solo EP which will be released in March this year and also works as a guitar and bass tutor both privately and for music clubs within his hometown of Glenrothes. Chris has also just successfully achieved his HNC Music award from Perth College UHI, and is currently continuing his studies on the BA2 Popular Music course.
Pablo Lafuente and Iona Fyfe.
Pablo Lafuente is a young guitarist and fiddler from Spain via Stirling. After studying at The National Centre for Excellence in Plockton, Pablo moved to Glasgow, where he is highly in demand as a full time guitarist playing with such bands as Barluath and Sketch whilst studying BA Applied Music at UHI Benbecula.
Iona Fyfe is a young singer originally from Huntly, steeped in Scotlands balladry and folksong. A BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year Finalist, she is studying at The Royal Conservatoire. Together they combine thoughtful guitar and vocal arrangements to showcase tender and sympathetic, yet driving music.
Maisie May
Maisie is 19 years old and studying folk and traditional music at Newcastle University. She have been performing since she was a child and has played at various folk festivals in England as well as private events and gigs in local areas. Her repertoire is varied as she has had lots of influences throughout her studies in music (including jazz, Indian classical music, world music and folk). She tends to perform material that comes under the styles of folk, indie/pop, jazz and sometimes a fusion of the above. However, she would love to perform more folk and traditional music overall, she finds audiences are sometimes harder to source for this genre. She sings and has studied classical guitar since she was 12, resulting in intricately picked accompaniment. She aspires to perform, teach, collaborate.
