Sean McConnell

Performing live in the studio this Sunday is aclaimed Nashville singer songwriter Sean McConnell, who releases his new album, Second Hand Smoke next month.  Sean, whose parents were both folk singers in the Boston area, moved to Georgia when he was 11, and to Nashville in his college days. He recorded his first album at age 15. He has written songs for everyo from Meat Loaf to Tim McGraw, Martina McBride, Rascall Flatts and Brad Paisley.

He plays all the instruments on his new album, and will be previewing a few on the programme.

Rachel Baiman

‘The product of a childhood steeped in progressive politics, Nashville-based singer-songwriter and fiddler/banjo player Rachel Baiman – half of celebrated duo 10 String Symphony – brings contemporary folk virtuosity and compelling eloquence to the art of the protest song’ with her debut album ‘Shame’ in 2017 featured on NPR’s “Songs We Love”, called a “Rootsy Wake-up Call” by Folk Alley, and described by Vice’s “Noisey” as “flipping off authority one song at a time.” Produced by Andrew Marlin of Mandolin Orange, it features “I Could’ve Been Your Lover Too”, which has reached over a million plays on Spotify.

Paul Tasker

With his ‘Cold Weather Music ‘ CD released in 2016 and another on the way Paul has quite a few projects on the go. From a duo called SAL, to the band ‘The Colour of Whiskey’ and of course his duo with Iona Macdonald in  ‘Doghouse Roses’, formed in 2005 with which they have t albums released,  Paul is in constant demand and gigging extensively from throughout the UK and Europe
