Written by celtic music radio on June 19, 2024
The first ever “Sound of Iona Music Festival” is taking place on Friday, June 21st and Saturday the 22nd.
The setting is the idyllic west coast island of Iona and Celtic Music Radio, as the festival’s broadcast media partner, will be live on air from there over the two days.
The station will have live music from the multiple stages as well as interviews with many of the artists lined up.
On the opening day, mainly Scottish indie groups are playing with the night finishing off with musical duo Saint Phnx.
On the Saturday there is a more Scottish folk / contemporary flavour with performances from The Laurettes, Iona Fyfe, Kirsteen Harvey and Skerryvore to name but a few.
Alex Jenkins, Andy Hood and Greg Summers are the trio of station presenters covering the full event with live shows over the two days.
