On today’s (Sunday) Stewart Fenwick Country on Celtic Music Radio will be guest Laura McGhee.
Since Laura’s brave leap across the pond back in 2010, she has been touring all over America with artists such as John McEuen and Les Thompson (founding members of the Nitty Gritty Dirt band), John Carter Cash (son of country legend Johnny Cash and June Carter) and projects like the PBS hit TV show Christmas with the Celts and BBC Alba’s Rabbie & The Nashville Lassies as well as taking her solo act out on the road with the release of her latest EP “How Leaving Feels.”
The title track was written as part of a writing project at the Cash Cabin in an all female writing group.
Laura loved it so much she went on to record it with Crystal Gayle producer Mike Loudermilk.
Laura, who hails from Monifieth in the County of Angus, has been on a short homecoming acoustic tour this week, with a stripped down intimate performance of her own material.
