Ciaran Dorris’ guest ‘castaway’ on Sunday will be singer-songwriter and mandolinist Laura-Beth Salter, co-founder of the acclaimed all-female band The Shee who will be appearing at Celtic Connections, in the Mitchell Theatre, Glasgow on Saturday 2 February.
Their sound is ‘a delectably distinctive blend of Scottish, English, Gaelic and Americana elements including traditional, contemporary and original material’.
Laura-Beth is originally from Lincolnshire but is now based in Glasgow. Her background is in the Blues, Oldtime and Bluegrass music that her parents play, but after studying the Traditional Music Degree in Newcastle she became heavily involved in the folk scene and met her fellow members of of ‘The Shee’ pictured.
