Gordon Gunn

Gordon Gunn who hails from Wick, Caithness . Coming from a family with more that a few famous relatives!. Gordon took up the fiddle when it was a time that it was not ‘cool’ to play the fiddle, you could not ‘dauner doon the road’ fiddle case in hand in those days . Still with a teacher like Margaret Henderson a legend in the North of Scotland it was not long before Gordon was captured by the fiddling bug who recently has been described as “one of the most exciting and innovative fiddle players of the times.”
As well as solo and duo gigs, Gordon a founding member of renowned Session A9 (were voted best live act at the 2012 Trad Awards) With fellow musicians and friends such as Brian McAlpine and Phil Anderson also on this new CD. As well as also being a tutor / composer /session musician and producer, tutoring from Wick, to Plockton – The National Center of Excellence, to the Feisena nan Gaidheal and everywhere in between he is out touring with session A9 and is will also be touring with his trio in the spring of 2016.
Gordon’s first album for Greentrax Records “Shoreside” was released too much critical acclaim and brought his music to a wider audience at home and abroad. Mr Greentrax himself, Ian Green has been urging Gordon for some time to get another solo album out there, which brings us to his new release Wick to Wickham>
