Celtic Music Radio and St Andrew’s in the Square in Glasgow raised £3,455 from two benefit concerts to raise funds for the Clutha Vaults accident victims and for the emergency services involved.
The concerts took place on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 January from 7.30pm and while there were no tickets, attendees were invited to make a donation on the door in aid of the families of the victims and emergency services that attended the incident on Friday 29 November 2013.
Proceeds from the evenings will be donated equally between the City of Glasgow Clutha Appeal Fund, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Family Support Trust, Scottish Police Benevolent Fund and the Scottish Ambulance Benevolent Fund.
Artists that performed at the event were: Bill Adair, Tom Fairnie, Haggerdash, Steven Clark, Craig Brooks & Jai McDowell, Arthur Johnstone (pictured left with his support band), Adam McCulloch, Lori McTear, Rudegin, The O’Cajunals, Mary K Burke, The Celtic Fire, Fiona Cuthill & Stevie Lawrence, Pauline Alexander & Edwin Gallacher, Paddy Callaghan & band, Moira Kerr and to end the night, Mick West & Frank McLaughlin on guitar.
With all the performers assembled on the stage at the end of the two day event late on Saturday night, Celtic Music Radio’s Ross Macfadyen thanked all artists who came to support the fundraising and for everyone that attended. Celtic Music Radio presenter Sandy Pratt announced that £3,455.78 had been raised.
Ross added: “Thanks to everyone involved, the artists, the audience, and all the volunteers who made the nights go smoothly.”
