Today”s Festival Fling brings news of Northern Streams Festival which is on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th April to bring together music of Scotland and the Nordic regions.

Swedish singers Karin Ericsson Back, Maria Misgeld and Eva Rune as the group Irmelin, delight with their acapella virtuosity. Marit Fält and Rona Wilkie (BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2012) are a Norwegian-Scottish fiddle/Mandola/voice duo who also won a Danny Kyle award at Celtic Connections. In the first part of the show I have an interview with Fiona Campbell, chair of the TMSA. The music of Marit Falt and Rona Wilkie awarded a Danny in 2012 at the Danny Kyle Open Stage at Celtic Connections.
This blend of Scottish and Nordic music is quite stunning and you are sure to enjoy these brief concerts give you a taste of the Northern Stream Festival.
