East Kilbride Follk Festival takes place between Thursday 5th and Saturday 7th November, with a total of 25 events in various venues.
Robert Clark is organising the event with the help of fellow members of popular local band Cockalorum.
Other acts will be performing over the weekend include Tom Clelland, Billy Stewart, Peter Nardini, The Cameron Brothers, Alan Jones, Jamie Marshall, John Galbraith Christine Bovill, Jim McKenna and Caroline Martin.
For those wishing to get involved by playing or singing (or just listening) there will be sessions held in The Montgomerie Arms and The Village Inn, with Legends hosting an open stage and a singaround.
There will be workshops in voice, Irish dancing and mandolin as well as competitions for under-16s, adults and songwriters.
These competitions will be all-inclusive, with solo performers, groups of any size, vocalists and instrumentalists all welcome to participate. The only criterion is that the music is either traditional or contemporary folk.
Concerts, which will be ticketed, include The Lanarkshire Songwriters performance in the Arts Centre on the Friday night, Mr Boom’s one-man show for children on Saturday afternoon and the cream of East Kilbride’s own talent the same night for the ‘East Kilbride Folk’ concert.

There will be plenty of free entertainment over the weekend with Legends, and The Village Inn hosting live bands with Haggerdash, Rudeigin, Cruachan, Tighnamara, Trochrague, Cockalorum and The Cameron Brothers all playing sets.
The local folk club are being supported by East Kilbride Arts Council and members of Stonehouse Folk Club.
