Fjanna are an extremely talented group of young Shetland Musicians who have scooped not only individual but collectively many accolades locally and nationally in the Traditional music scene over the last eighteen months

Mike Luarenson(14) on accordion, Arrna Philip (16) on drums and pipes, Jodie Smith (15) on  fiddle and Anya Johnston (14) on both fiddle and Piano . The band have been in great demand recently, the highlight of their journey so far being the supporting act for Phil and Aly during their 30th Year Anniversary Tour visit to Shetland. As well as traditions tunes they mix them with their on compositions! A great achievement for the youngsters in 2017 was producing, designing and marketing their first CD Route 970

Stanley and Astrid Samuelsen – Faeroe –

Stanley Samuelsen is a guitarist, singer and songwriter from The Faroe Islands with an international career and a stage appearance that touches the audience deeply. His CV includes cultural awards, nominations and a golden jubilee as a performing artist. A songbook, various band albums, 8 solo albums, the latest Folk Songs From the Faroe Islands, a collection of his most essential songs.  Stanley is one of the most highly praised songwriters in the Faroe Islands.

BASORK is an all Irish, Derry based ten piece fusion group whose compositions are influenced by Irish, European and Middle Eastern sounds. Brass, Strings and Woodwind combine with hints of jazz, funk and various traditional musics with big melodies and lots of improvisation.Martin Coyle Bouzouki   /Paul Cutliffe Sax, Clarinet, Whistle /Robert Goodman Trumpet /Robert Peoples Violin /Marc Forbes Bass /Donal McGuinness Trombone Amanda Gillespie Tuba/Sousophone BASORK  A passion for travel, music and culture brought the group together, united by an ethos fuelled by the exploration and celebration of cultural diversity through music.

Hannah Rose Platt – and Thomas Collison London/ Liverpool –  Listen Again on Archive Link
Hannah Rose Platt is an enchanting singer-songwriter, talented guitarist and storyteller.  She recorded her debut album Portraits in Nashville where she worked with some of the industry’s leading names, Grammy award-winning musicians Mark Fain, (Ricky Skaggs, Dolly Parton) Stuart Duncan (Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, The Nashville Bluegrass Band, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss) Her melodic, poetic and accessible music offers self-written narratives to ordinary people who had no one to unfurl their stories; tales of luck, stoicism, loneliness, love, heartbreak and hope. She warmly builds characters like an author, penning songs that almost eavesdrop on other people’s lives.‘Portraits’ was released independently to widespread critical acclaim, receiving 5star and 4star reviews across the board after which, she was invited to legendary BBC broadcaster Bob Harris’ home to record a live session for his ‘Under the Apple Tree’ youtube channel. Championed by broadcasters Sid Griffin, Baylen Leonard and Ralph McLean,Hannah has also had TV sync successes, with several tracks used for Channel 4.

Brian Hassan – Strathbane – Tyrone – N.Ireland – Listen Again on Archive Link
From Strabane, Co Tyrone  Brian has played support to numerous Irish Artists including The High Kings , Donna Taggart, Tommy Fleming, The Fureys, Bagatelle, The Whistlin’ Donkeys, Sharron Shannon etc as well as numerous international artist. His songs are electric mix of folk, acoustic rock and pop, with strong melodies and lyrics.  Ep’s and CD to his credit to his new album called ‘Tales from Home’ released in December 2017.  Is gigging extensively and is looking forward to a busy time in 2018.
