Ciaran returns this week to the Sunday Session at 5.00pm after a two week break and has as his guest ‘castaway’ artist/craftswoman, music lover and regular Celtic Music Radio listener Margaret Gilbertson.
Born and raised in Glasgow, Margaret graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1994.
She works instinctively with various materials and says: “I’m intrigued by the reality that a lot of what we do in life is basically driven by feelings. I can’t do something if my heart’s not in it. Particular focuses in the last few years have been paintings of Mull, rescuing old blackboards and sculpting little unique heart necklaces.”
I am many things…mother, artist, writer, crafter, admin assistant, eclectic collector, hoarder, lover of real books, garden lover, believer in fairness, random kindness and making the best of what we get. I try to give people an insight into art and how it can be an integral part of everyday life. I love to see change in the world and love when art is the catalyst.”
Margaret has her own craft business, visit MGCraftsGlasgow.
