Celtic Music Radio has entered The Sony Golden Headphones Award nominating presenter Ciaran Dorris of Sunday Session fame.
Sony is proud to introduce a brand new listeners” choice award for the Sony Radio Academy Awards, the radio broadcast industry”s “Oscars”.
The Sony Golden Headphones Award is an exciting new award category that allows the public to vote for their favourite radio presenter, finally deciding which of the myriad presenters whom we hear over the airwaves every week has won the hearts of the British public.
Celtic Music Radio 1530AM is nominating Belfast born singer-songwriter Ciaran Dorris who has lived in Glasgow for 25 years. He joined Celtic Music Radio 1530AM at its launch in January 2008 presenting and producing his weekly Sunday Session programme between 5.00 and 7.00pm every Sunday.
Not only an acclaimed singer-songwriter, but also a fine interpreter of song and a talented radio presenter. His Sunday Session attracts a large audience with the programme featuring a guest “castaway” from not only singers and musicians, but also from health and social work professionals, culture and the arts. Listeners are involved in the content of the programme, joining in large numbers to the community of Sunday Sessioners using Facebook, text and email.
The Sony Golden Headphones Award will be decided entirely by public vote, which opens on Monday 15 April 2013. Voting is limited to one vote per email address and will close at 5.00pm on Friday 10 May 2013. All voters for the Sony Golden Headphones Award will automatically be entered into a free prize draw to win one of twenty pairs of MDR-1R headphones.
The winner of the Sony Golden Headphones Award will receive a specially created trophy. The design is based on Sony’s best-selling MDR-1 headphone range and will be presented to the winner at the Sony Radio Academy Awards ceremony on Monday 13 May at Grosvenor House Hotel, London. Second and third place recipients will also be recognised.
Voting opens Monday 15 April 2013.
