On Ceòl ‘s Craic tonight, Monday 12 May from 6.00pm, harpist Gwen Màiri Yorke now working and living in Wales, will be the guest live in studio 1.
Gwen Màiri, orginally from St. Andrews, Fife, studied pedal harp at the RSAMD in Glasgow which led to much orchestral and chamber work in the years following graduation, but in the last few years her focus has been on traditional music.
In Glasgow, Gwen is the clarsach teacher at Sgoil Ghàidhlig Ghlaschu and Curator of Music at Renfield St. Stephen’s Church while her performing side is mainly based in Wales at the moment as part of the duo Tornish and also the groundbreaking project, 10 Mewn Bws.
Plans for the rest of May include a tour with 10 Mewn Bws centred around a double-bill performance with Cerys Matthews at Hay Festival.
Along with her will be Evin Downey from Cònradh na Gaelige – make sure you tune in!
