On Ceòl ’s Craic on Monday 19 May at 6.00pm special guest is Kim Carnie.
This young singer, a former pupil of The National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music in Plockton, hails from Oban, Argyll.
She has performed with her own bands and with Feis Rois’ National Trad Trail at festivals throughout the UK including the Cambridge Folk Festival, Best of the West Festival, Hebridean Celtic Festival and Glasgow’s Celtic Connections.
With her former band, Kim was short-listed as a semi-finalist for the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards 2011.
She went on to become a member, and lead singer, of John Saich’s ‘MOVE’ project.
Although predominately a Gaelic singer, Kim has recently started to perform her own material alongside guitarist Innes White from Dingwall and fiddler Eric Linklater from Orkney.
