Celtic Music Radio’s Mike Ritchie Wins – Best Radio Show 2020 -Readers Poll by Americana-UK.

Celtic Music Radio presenter, Mike Ritchie, has come out top of a leading music website’s poll for the second time in three years.

The Mike Ritchie On Sunday Show has been voted the Best Radio Show 2020 in a readers’ poll run by the influential Americana-UK website.

Mike’s show goes out every Sunday between 4 and 6 pm, and features a mix of Americana, alt.country, roots, bluegrass and singer/songwriters – from the up-and-coming to established acts.

The Celtic Music Radio team is delighted that Mike has won this prestigious award for his highly popular show.

Chair of the station’s board of directors, Alex Jenkins, said: 

“This is terrific recognition for a community-based station run by volunteers.

“We are so pleased for Mike whose show is first-class. Winning something like this through a public vote is a real achievement, especially when a broadcasting giant such as Bob Harris of the BBC is in the mix.

“Mike loves the music he plays and so do the growing number of folk who listen to his show. All of us at Celtic Music Radio are so pleased by this result and recognition.”

Mike, who produces and presents his show, said:

“Winning once was marvellous but topping the Americana-UK reader’s poll for a second time feels truly extra special.

“My huge thanks go to the music lovers who listen to the show on Sunday afternoons and support me all year long, and to everyone who voted for me.
