Celtic Music Radio received an award at the inaugural Scottish New Music Awards held at the Classic Grand in Glasgow city centre on Sunday 4 September 2011.
Ross Macfadyen was presented with the Music Director (Radio) of the Year award.
In this catergory Ross had competition from other nominees including two producers from BBC Radio Scotland and also Ali Malik from Awaz FM and Asher Halle from Green Pepper Juction production company.
Congratulations came flooding in from many Facebook posters on hearing the award news.
Many thanks also go to the many listeners who also commented, including Lynn Durkee, Anne & Stevie Connor, Stephen Thomson, Jean Livingstone, Shona McGinn, Alan Jarvie, Kristi Cottrell and to anyone we’ve missed! We greatly appreciate your support of Celtic Music Radio.
As Ross (pictured) said in his acceptance speech, “The award is for all the team at Celtic Music Radio. It is also for the artists that send us in their music, and our listeners across Scotland, the UK and the world for listening in.”
The Classic Grand was full to capacity with over 500 people attending and the entire event was broadcast live on Celtic Music Radio and also on Radio Six International. Photo shows the main stage and more photos will feature later plus a special in the Newsletter.
Celtic Music Radio is now an ‘award winning station’!
And our thanks go to all who voted for us in all the categories we were nominated in.
