Here at Celtic Music Radio, we trust you had an enjoyable Christmas Day and you are looking forward to rest of the festive season.
Today, Wednesday 26 December is Boxing Day and we have some special programmes for the holiday.
At 12 noon Celtic Country presenter Stewart Fenwick has a very interesting chat with singer Kathy Mattea when she visited Glasgow to play at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
And at 1.00pm there is Rab Noakes Session when Rab (or Robert Noakes in radio production circles) came into Celtic Music Radio during our summer Radiothon fundraising event to chat to Ross Macfadyen and play a few of his songs.
Just before you tuck into your Boxing Day dinner, you can enjoy a recording of Kilmarnock Edition at the Scottish Music Centre, Candleriggs, Glasgow to celebrate the launch of the band’s debut CD ‘Pay it Forward’. The six band members come from all over Scotland and skilfully weave together many elements of contemporary Scottish song. They take their name from Robert Burns’ celebrated volume of work, Kilmarnock Edition. To warm-up the evening, there is support from Sauna Currie, a 14 year old pupil of Glasgow Gaelic School.
At 6.00pm there is John’s Week as John Collings presents a Christmas edition of the his weekly Wednesday programme.
And as usual, Gordon Hotchkiss is live in studio 1 with his Hotchpotch from 7.00pm and then Alan Burke in Late Night at 10.00pm to round of Boxing Day.
