On the Mary K. Burke Show on Sunday 28 October at 7.00pm are guest band Barluath.
Barluath are a traditional/folk music band who embrace a wide range of musical styles including Gaelic and Scots song, bagpipes, whistles, fiddle, guitar, bouzouki, bass, clarinet and piano. With these instruments the band members explore both the traditional and contemporary music of Scotland. The band was one of the winners of The Danny Kyle Open Stage at Celtic Connections 2012.
The name “Barluath” (pronounced Bar-lhu-ah) comes from an ancient bagpiping embellishment used in a style of music called piobaireachd (pronounced peeb-ur-uch).
Barluath are playing Perthshire Amber and are included in the Cabaret Amber festival club session on 30 October between 5.00 and 7.00pm which will be broadcast live on Celtic Music Radio 1530AM.
