The Celtic Music Radio Album of the Week commencing Saturday 15 February 2014 is from celebrated folk singer-songwriter and virtuoso fiddler Seth Lakeman and his new album ‘Word Of Mouth’ release in February 2014.
Patrick Quinn spoke to Seth when he was in Glasgow for his Celtic Connections concert on Friday 31 January 2014 at the 02ABC in Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow.
Seth Lakeman came to the Celtic Music Radio base during Celtic Connections at Adelaide’s at 209 Bath Street in Glasgow city centre to talk about his music and new album with Patrick.
Seth has released six albums to date including 2005’s Mercury-nominated Kitty Jay and the gold-selling Freedom Fields.
Seth had a hectic summer in 2013, including festival appearances around the UK and in Europe in between recording the new album.
Seth Bernard Lakeman is 37 years of age and is an English singer-songwriter and multi- instrumentalist who is most often associated with the fiddle and tenor guitar, but also plays the viola and banjo.
Nominated for the Mercury Music Prize, Seth Lakeman has belonged to several musical ensembles, including one with his two brothers, fellow folk musicians Sam and Sean Lakeman, but has most recently established himself as a solo act.
