The Celtic Music Radio Album of the Week commencing Saturday 20 October is from prairie balladeer Scott Cook, an Edmonton-based, world-traveling songwriter with his current CD Moonlit Rambles.
Bill Morris talks to Scott when he recently played Glasgow.
Scott Cook is a tirelessly traveling songwriter who brings honesty, humour and years of roads and a deep love of humanity to his songwriting and storytelling.
His straight-talking tunes weave together folk, roots, blues, country and soul influences whether stripped down to fingerpicked acoustic guitar, banjo, ukulele and foot percussion or backed by his 5-piece band The Long Weekends.
He has been making a full-time living at music since 2007, traveling the continent while living out of his van, and is currently touring in support of his third solo album Moonlit Rambles, which Edmonton reviewer Fish Griwkowsky likened to: “a conversational bottle of Jack passed around a dawn fire, everything burning just right.”
Album of the Week, Saturday at 12 noon and 12 midnight and Monday 22 October at 6.00pm and Catch Up anytime.
