The Celtic Music Radio Album of the Week commencing Saturday 31 August is the CD from Poole and Bournemouth, Dorset based busker Owen Moore with Simplicated Songs.
Ross Macfadyen talks to Owen about his music and busking in the seaside holiday towns along the Dorset coast of southern England.
Busking has moved on from the days of just trying to get a few pennies or coins from passers-by on a pavement street, these days the new objective is to try and hold them long enough for a busker to be able to flog street listeners a copy of the busker’s new CD!
This is where the busker that writes their own material starts gaining the advantage, particularly if they’re hoping to take money off the locals as well as passing tourists of which Bournemouth has and is a favourite town of young people, particularly the French.
Owen Moore has put together an album that is sunny and breezy like the Bournemouth weather.
