The Celtic Music Radio Album of the Week commencing Saturday 10 November is the new CD ‘Next Time’ from Scottish singer-songwriter Tom Clelland.
Ciaran Dorris talks to Tom about his album and his music.
The album includes the prize-winning songs ‘Carrion Craw’; ‘What’s waiting for you’; ‘I think he liked the ladies’; ‘Dig’ and the album title song ‘Next time’.
Other musicians on the album are Clive Gregson, Steven Polwart, Wendy Weatherby, Russell Ballantine, Fiona Cuthill, Mairearad Green, Davie Scott, Kris Koren and John Weatherby.
East Lothian’s Tom Clelland is not your typical singer-songwriter having only decided to embark on a music career at the age of 50. He soon discovered that he not only had a voice but a gift for songwriting. His style is slighlty country, slightly folky, slightly bluesy.
He started his songwriting career, playing at local folk clubs in Glasgow trying out a few songs and finding they were well received.
This brand new CD from Tom was engineered and co-produced by Kris Koren at Soundsense Studios, Moffat, Dumfries-shire and mastered at Castlesound Studios, Pencaitland, East Lothian.
The ‘Next Time’ CD from Tom Clelland is available here and is distributed through Proper Music Distribution.
Album of the Week, Saturday 10 November at 12 noon and 12 midnight and Monday 12 November at 6.00pm and at Catch Up anytime.
