The Celtic Music Radio Album of the Week commencing Saturday 29 June is the new CD from Kelso accordionist Bob Liddle called “Kale Water”.
Danny Matheson talks to Bob about this CD release and his music and life in the Borders.
Bob explains that the album is a concept work with a focus on the 20 mile long River Kale and the Kale Valley in the Borders.
This is original Scottish music from the valley of the Kale Water in the Scottish Borders.
The Kale Water rises in the Cheviot Hills near to the English border and winds its way down the Kale Water Valley for about 20 miles, passing farms and villages emptying into the River Teviot.
The is a musical map of the area in and around the Kale Water Valley with anecdotes by Jock Bryce of Linton Hill.
Bob is also a solo artist who plays around the Scottish Borders and further afield at clubs, functions and weddings.
