Album Of The Week – JKL Duo ‘The International Poet’

JKL DUO – Jacopo Lazzaretti and Kerry Lynch – play music straight from the heart, using the flute and classical guitar to deliver what’s been described as ‘a melting pot of creativity’ to present Robert Burns ‘as you’ve never heard him before.”

Splitting their time between performing, recording and teaching from their studio in Glasgow, the Scottish-Italian couple have been giving audiences a flavour of ‘The International Poet.’

For the project Jacopo and Kerry brought together a group of first-class musicians to imagine that Burns himself had asked them to collaborate with him. The aim was to ‘breathe new life into well-known melodies’ while creating something new out of something old and much loved.

Today (Saturday, May 27) JKL DUO will be in conversation and giving details of the record on our Album of the Week Show with Patrick Quinn at midday.
