Album of the Week – Ivan Drever ‘Covered’

Orcadian musician IVAN DREVER has long considered recording a collection interpreting some of his favourite songs by his favourite artists.

And with ‘Covered’ he has done just that, and in real style.

The 12 songs here include tracks made famous by the likes of Frankie Miller, Gallagher and Lyle, Tom Waits and U2.

Ivan said: “I have been pondering an album of covers for a few years now, and although it has given me a great source of enjoyment over the last 40 odd years to write my own songs and tunes, I have always fancied the idea of singing other people’s songs.

“This is the result and we hope you enjoy it.”

Ivan will be chatting about the idea and the end result with Hugh Taylor on our Album of the Week Show today at midday.
