Album of the Week ‘Compass’ by Norrie McCulloch on CMR 8th June 2019
Norrie McCulloch

Stirling-based songwriter Norrie McCulloch is releasing his latest album, “Compass” on May 31 – and he will be a guest on the award-winning Mike Ritchie On Sunday Show on June 2.
Norrie will be visiting the Celtic Music Radio studios to record an interview and session with Mike. Compass, with nine tracks, is his follow-up to two 2017 releases, the “Townes Blues” EP and the full-length, “Bare Along The Branches”. Both won him excellent reviews.
The first single from the new release, Road Sign, has already received airplay. For the album, which is coming out on the Back Dust record label, Norrie has taken inspiration from the folk and roots traditions of 60s and 70s artists such as Fred Neil, Bert Jansch and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
“Norrie is a spirited and imaginative songwriter who plays with gentle boldness and warming commitment,” said Mike. “Really looking forward to hearing the new tracks and hearing about how the album came together.”
