This week”s Album of the Week is from Airdrie Songwriters Club.
The Airdrie Songwriters Club started life in January 2011 as a workshop in Airdrie Library. The group was conceived and is run by Dhilin Kunderan who has been a musician/songwriter of over 25 years and who also happens to work at the Library. The aim of the club was to provide an environment where fellow songwriters could meet and bounce ideas regarding their songs, lyrics and arrangements. There is no quality/experience/ability bar within the club and it is open to everyone as we aim to provide a relaxed
and convivial atmosphere where songwriters of all ages, creed, gender or colour can come and confidently let like minded people share in their creativity.
The club has exceeded all expectations with 5 radio sessions, showcases and gigs and multiple appearances by members at Celtic Connections 2012. The club has now recorded their first album titled ASK which will be available for sale and download in November 2012 and there will be a large scale show in Airdrie”s newly refurbished town hall on Sunday Dec 2nd 2012 to launch the album. The club”s star is certainly on the rise!
If you are a songwriter or musician looking to improve your song writing skills, then why not join like minded individuals who share your passion and aspirations? Whether you are a seasoned professional who feels that they can share some of their skills or a novice looking to develop, your input is valued and welcome.
