Joining Ciaran Dorris tonight (Sunday) from 5.00pm will be musician and singer Adam McCulloch from Lanarkshire.
Adam McCulloch originally seemed destined for a solo career, however, after completing his first album In These Times he was looking for some minimal accompaniment for the album launch in May 2011.
One thing led to another and so The Adam McCulloch Trio was born mid April 2011 featuring Adam’s distinct style blended with traditional, gypsy jazz and bluegrass influences.
Adam’s album launch and the Trio’s first gig was on 19th May 2011 at The Star Folk Club, St Andrews in the Square, Glasgow where they were warmly received by all who attended.
Since forming in 2011 the Trio have enjoyed playing at folk clubs throughout Scotland and were fortunate enough to play at Girvan and Orkney Folk Festivals in addition to having been placed as one of the top 10 Highly Commended acts of the Danny Kyle Open Stage at Celtic Connections 2012.
Adam continues to write and perform as a solo artist with the Trio line-up being fluid enough in nature to allow him to pursue projects, using different styles of music with specific artists whilst keeping his love of the traditional folk song (that he’s been steeped in since birth) at the forefront of all that he produces.
Ciaran Dorris Sunday Session, Sunday 17 February 5.00-7.00pm.
