A Choral Christmas At Celtic Music Radio

Written by on December 12, 2024

School choruses are providing some cracking festive sounds on the station’s programmes between now and December 25.

Pupils from more than 20 schools in North and South Lanarkshire, Glasgow, East Renfrewshire – and even one from Liverpool – have recorded sparkling tracks for presenters to play in addition to the more standard songs popular at this time of the year.

It is hoped some of the talented youngsters will be able to sing live from our studio at Braehead Shopping Centre as well.

We asked schools to choose traditional Christmas carols, songs or even a selection from their Christmas show., and the response was excellent.

Members of the choirs have introduced their recorded tracks, which makes the music even more personal.

Alex Jenkins, chair of the board of directors at Celtic Music Radio, said:

“We are at the heart of the community and involving the primary and secondary school children, their teachers and their choirs is a great way to celebrate Christmas.

“It’s also letting the children become aware of and interested in radio – their tracks would brighten any festive playlist.

“We extend our thanks to all the schools who got into the spirit and we know our listeners will really enjoy the tracks.”
